Career Archetypes: Who You Become at the Crossroads
A seven-part series on the inner shifts that shape our working lives when we meet ourselves at a career threshold
What happens when the career you’ve built no longer fits quite right?
Not in a dramatic, everything-is-on-fire kind of way. But in a quieter, more unsettling way. You’ve followed the path, ticked the boxes, maybe even exceeded expectations. And yet, there’s a restlessness. A whisper. A sense that something else wants to emerge.
This fall, I am celebrating 5 years of working as an independent career coach. This is huge for me. And for you! Why? Because in the last 5 years I have been listening to countless stories of people’s experience (and what they tell themselves in these moments of doubt) when they find themselves at career thresholds. And I have learned a thing or two that I finally made time to condense, analyse, creatively package and am now ready to share with you!
By fall, I will have completed close to 1200 career coaching sessions deeply listening, reflecting back and helping people shift perspectives so they can create the careers that they really want to get up for on Monday mornings. 1200 conversations with thoughtful mid-career professionals navigating important shifts - in themselves, in the world, and in their work. 1200 conversations about what really matters when we are finding ourselves at a crossroads.
How do you know when you hit the crossroads?
You will ask yourself questions that sound like these:
Is this really what I want to be doing?
I’m good at my job, so why does it feel so flat?
How do I move forward when I’m not even sure what I want anymore?
What I’ve noticed again and again is that while each journey is unique, the deeper patterns often echo one another. Certain archetypes began to emerge - recurring energies, emotional themes, or internal thought-patterns that clients would unpack as they moved through these transitions.
These archetypes aren’t boxes. They’re mirrors. They reflect back something real, and often tender, about what it means to be a working human in a changing world.
✨ Meet the Archetypes
Over the next few months, I’ll be sharing a seven-part series that brings these archetypes to life. Every other week we will explore one distinct pattern I’ve seen in my coaching work - the kind that shapes not only how we think about work, but who we are becoming on our journey.
This series is in part a celebration of my learning and in part an evolving guide to help you navigate your time at the career threshold. Because one thing is for sure: at least at one point in your working life you will inevitably meet yourself at a threshold of unfolding. It can feel daunting and scary at first. But trust me, it’s worth it. And there are a ton of moments waiting on the other side to stop and smell the roses!
Here’s who we will meet together:
The Purpose Seeker
When successful no longer means fulfilled
The Accidental Professional
From drifting through roles to designing something authentic
The Doubter-to-Doer
Rebuilding confidence when self-belief feels shaky
The Intentional Planner
Designing a future that fits and creates impact — one clear step at a time
The Overloaded Alchemist
Rediscovering your magic after giving too much for too long
The Knowledge Seeker
Equipping yourself with insight and deep inner wisdom, not just advice
The Self-Guided Explorer
Trusting your own wisdom in a world of noise
Each piece will include real insights from my client work (shared anonymously and with deep care), gentle reflection questions, and thoughts on how we navigate work and life with more clarity, depth, and alignment.
Why I’m Sharing This
The world of work is changing - and so are we.
What I’m seeing in my coaching practice isn’t just people switching jobs. It’s people seeking wholeness. Seeking meaning. Seeking to reconnect their strengths, values, and energy to something that feels real.
This series is my offering to anyone standing at their own career crossroads. Whether you’re thinking about change, in the midst of it, or reflecting on how far you’ve come.
You might see yourself clearly in one of these archetypes, or you might move between several. Wherever you find yourself, I hope you feel seen, supported, and a little more resourced to take the next step.
I am very excited for this series to inspire fresh perspectives and hopefully some great conversations. Do you want to help me choose which Archetype to dive into first? 👇🏼
With gratitude and a bit of magic,
Claudia 🌿

Yes, I totally see these shifts between archetypes. It's never a linear journey. Often, we need different things at different times. And we hit different types of challenges along the way.
I love the archetypes Claudia 🥰
